Please read an introduction to Amigas in the Amiga 1000 entry.

The Amiga 600 and 1200 are clearly the best Amigas made. They are compact, compatible, powerful, and feature-rich.

Of the two, the 600 is the lower end model, being based off the old 68000 chip as opposed to the 68030 of its peer Amiga 3000. The Amiga 600 is often looked down upon for as being nothing more than a repackaged Amiga 500, lacking the numeric keypad of it little brother and the more compatible 1.3 rom. However, the rom can be replaced, and the smaller footprint, PCMCIA port, and IDE controller more than makes up for any other flaws.

Personal Note: The A600 and HD were more eBay finds. Since the description is really more of a commentary, I will let it stand. Spare boards came from AmiBay.
