64 Exchange "6485"

Introduction:

You may want to read the intro to the 6480 BBS program before continuing.

Although the connection between 6480 and this program is apparant as soon as you load the program, what is also apparant is that someone has decided to try and make this a real BBS program. Message bases have been added, a message editor now appears in the program (along with Feedback and E-mail!), along with some rudamentary access restrictions.

The lack (or need) of significant offline configuration programs is still a mark of this line, however-- you can still set up almost everything from the waiting for call screen:

You set up your entire system AFTER booting.

Also a mark of this line is the lack of a true local logon. A sysop screen is provided which is supposed to let you do most anything a user would be able to do, except inspect your system from the user's end of course.

Until 7.0, this was the SysOps access to the system

The message base areas resemble in structure the early EBBS, ZBBS, etc. line of programs, and is available off the main menu. Like its forebears, however, all download functions are easily accessible from the main menu, putting proper focus on the main mission of the program -- promote game collecting.

Transfer functions are easily available from the main menu.
